October 2011 Artist Feature

This month I’d like to feature a young German artist who’s known as “maulheld” or “deltamue”. Most of her amazing pictures are digital paintings, often created with the free online drawing application ‘Oekaki’.

As a Oekaki Addict myself I can say that she has a kind of unique technique and a very individual style I’ve nowhere else seen before. The choice of colors are very special and the pictures often kinda emotional or/and dark. I love it. If you want to see more, please visit her deviantArt page -here-

Since it was drawn with an online drawing application, the tool started bugging around after a while because of the picture’s size I guess. So In the end I couldn’t make it as detailed as wanted and had no Idea for a background (guess because of the pose) that’s why I cropped it a little. However there are some anatomy mistakes (although I had a reference! Oh my…). They bug me a little, but since it’s not directly realism it’s not too bad I guess.

Drawing time: about 6h+
Tool: Shi-Painter, Graphic Tablet, Mouse

“Hi Sweetie”

that’s what I imagine her saying. A random sketch colored in

Shi-Painter online drawing application to get back to that style ->pic

2.5h all toghether.

A portrait done entirely with the online drawing application Shi-Painter.

approx. 3.5h worktime

November 2012 Artist Feature: Eric Hibbeler

“Eric Hibbeler is a illustrator and concept artist who has worked in video games, animation and print media since 2008. He currently lives and paints in Kansas City, Missouri.”

What fascinated me first when seeing Eric’s Gallery on DeviantArt was the Unique environment design. That’s why I’d like to present you some of these pictures first.

what I loved most was the choice of colors. But also the technique. The sketchy way of digital painting with a few details added here and there and it looks already perfectly clean. Just fantastic!

April 2013 Artist Feature: Pipra Darling

Just stumbled upon Pipra while browsing tumblr and decided to do

an Artist feature. Because basing on her deviantArt pageviews, she definitely doesn’t get the attention she deserves.

Lovely style! You should browse her gallery!
